An Era of Transformation
As we step into 2025, we're making some necessary and difficult changes. Effective immediately, we are pausing all production and halting new orders as we take a much-needed hiatus to recalibrate, reassess, and rebuild. This decision has not been made lightly, but one that prioritizes both sustainability and longevity—of both the brand and the human being behind it.
Why the Pause?
The past couple of years have been a whirlwind, and as a solo-operated, self-financed venture, maintaining balance has become increasingly difficult. The weight of physical and mental exhaustion, rising financial pressures, and the challenge of juggling relationships and part-time work alongside the business have made it impossible to continue at the same pace. More importantly, it feels disingenuous to carry on with business as usual when the world is far from usual—when democracy is under threat, global conflicts rage on, and climate disasters worsen. Something had to give. While we love what we do, continuing without taking the necessary time to protect our peace and recharge would lead to burnout and even more time between collections or contact, and that serves no one.
Additionally, after careful consideration, we are effectively skipping two collections—Fall/Winter 2024-25 and Spring/Summer 2025—so that we can focus on other tasks such as reconnecting with our passion, finding ways to rebel productively, and refining the collection in progress, allowing us to return stronger, with a clearer vision and a brand that reflects our authentic identity.
De-platforming from Socials*
F*cebook, Inst*gram, and Tw*tter have long been vital tools for independent fashion brands by allowing us to share visual content and build communities of people of all backgrounds connected by the shared love of fashion made ethically and sustainably, but over the years, the landscape of these platforms has shifted in ways that no longer align with our values. Platforms owned by monopolistic sociopaths (I’m not a medical professional, but, hello…) have become increasingly unsafe and unwelcoming for our community, perpetuating false information and harmful rhetoric. Facts are non-negotiable, hate is unacceptable, and we refuse to contribute to platforms that actively spread misinformation and allow harm to flourish. As such, we will no longer be engaging on these platforms, and will likely be fully removed from these platforms by March 2025. I’ve censored the names of the platforms because I’d rather not have the site traffic from those keywords. No, thank you.
Where to Find Us
We're still here, just in different spaces. You can find us @bryanvanhaughton on YouTube, BlueSky, Pinterest, and TikTok (until it is officially banned in the US). More importantly, we strongly encourage signing up for our email newsletter to stay updated with brand news & updates, exclusive content, and more. We hope to increase our presence on the other platforms by regularly uploading content and engaging with you as we find each other, but content creation is a full-time job, and a large part of this hiatus is to relieve pressure.
The Future: A Rebrand in Motion
This hiatus is not just a pause, it's a period of transformation. When we return, it will mark the official launch of our rebrand—moving away from the previous polished, WASP-y marketing approach into something that is a true and honest extension of who we are. The goal is to create a space that is authentic, engaging, and deeply reflective of the people who love and support this brand—and not just for the pretty clothes.
The Fall/Winter 2025-26 collection, "Dissent: 1934", will mark our return, potentially with a split launch: lighter pieces first, followed by heavier cold-weather styles several weeks later. However, flexibility is key, and we’ll reassess as the year unfolds personally, nationally, and globally. Development on the Spring/Summer 2026 collection is on the horizon, but as with everything, it depends on where life takes us in the next few months.
Thank You
To those who have supported us—who have purchased, shared, engaged, or simply cheered us on from afar—thank you. This journey is evolving, and we’re grateful to have you with us as we take the next steps into a future that feels right.
Stay tuned, stay connected, and we’ll see you soon.
